What is the 1:8 ratio?

8 inches tall per 1 inch wide, or vice versa, for your port area. alot of people use that and say to never go more then a 1:8 ratio. if its what im thinking of

im thinking its the port width/height ratio also, but ive heard 1:9

yeah 1:8 or 1:9 i have heard both. i have heard of some people not using it at all and doing like 2 x 30 and getting excellent results so not sure about how much truth there is to it....i use 1:9 but that's just me.
