Noob Question

i bought a Directed 1500d off of ebay and it didnt have a manual or anything. I have a couple of newb questions since this is my first experience with car audio

I want to run it at 800w 2ohms and 1100w at 1 ohm. I havent found any extrenal switches on the amp. Do i wire my sub to 2 ohms and expect the amp to just run at 2ohms? And can i run a 4ohm dvc sub at 1 ohm?

My next question is how many channels does it have? I'm looking at the back and it has two sets of positive and negative terminals. I assume that means there is two channels. If so then how do i bridge them to run my 4ohm DVC Sub?

Next is a wire question. I want to use this wire kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5815887012&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 It's a 2 gauge wireing kit for a sub amp. Do i use the 12guage to wire my sub? it's 500w per coil. Will it be alright?

yes.

yes. http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=31984

its a mono block amp and hence its a one channel amp. the two sets of positive and negative terminals are there for ease of installing two subs. so if you wire one sub to it, it will see the wattage that the amp will give out at the load you create, if you install two subs then the power will be split between the subs.

and i don't know your last question. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

12awg is overkill for the 500wrms, if that is what you want though then go ahead and use it, no sense in not using wire you already have.

It's alright because i just glanced at the bottom and it says dual 2 ohms which i'm guessing means 2ohm DVC which will run at 1 ohm : ). I havent bought the kit yet. What would you reccomend? I mostly spotted the kit for it's 2 gauge wire for the amp power lead. Is that overkill? should i go with a 4 gauge kit?
