NOOB question. Crossover mode setting :)

i hate asking noob questions. But since i am one here it is.

I have CDTs CL-61As and a Alpine MRVf450 amp.. On the amp theres 3 crossover mode settings. OFF, HP, LP... Now i know i shouldnt use LP. But should i use HP or OFF? Off seems to produce alot more bass. HP really seems to produce hardly any midbass..... Which setting should i use ?

Use HP (highpass), with the frequency set somewhere between 50hz and ~100hz. You don't want your mids tackling too low of bass, or you risk damaging them. So, you definitely want to highapass them.

You may have the frequency adjusted wrong. Where is the frequency currently set to?

Just adjust the xover frequencies by ear till you find the setting that works best. But 60hz sounds like a great starting point for both.
