Noob question about Epicenter

Ok first I don't know what an epicenter is, this guy from an audio shop was trying to convince me that I need one to get my bass enhanced, I didn't buy that but a coworker is suggesting the same thing, so before I make a move I come to the experts, I'm really surprised that my bass is never like I've heard on some audio shops and I keep wondering why, even with lower ratings subs I've heard so much better setups than mine, but I come here asking for opinions and advice.

My current bass setup: 2x10" Kicker C-VR DVC @ 1ohm amped by Hifonics bxi606

is it worth it to install an epicenter? my coworker have an extra one and he told me he don't need it, he owes me $40 bucks and he said we are even if I take it, are those things that cheap? or which brands are ok, what specs should I look on an epicenter. Thank you very much in advance.

If you are a relative novice to audio, chances are good that you'll do more damage than good with an Epicenter. Used improperly you run the risk of damaging your subs.

Do a search for it here. I know myself and others have explained in relative detail how it "works".

But I will say it is not a "must have" product, especially with todays music.

Sounds to me like the guy at the shop was trying to make a sale, and your buddy may or may not be informed enough to be pushing you in the proper direction.

If you are looking for other ways to increase your subwoofer's performance, we can assist you in doing more fundamentally beneficial enhancements to your system such as a new enclosure, etc.
