I am a complete noob when it comes to car audio. I would like to replace my stock head unit and speakers. Later, I may possibly want to add an amp and a sub. I am on a pretty tight budget, and I dont know which brands are the best and what not. I am not looking for a really expensive super loud sysyem, I just want decent clear sound. Could you recommend me some good cheap (~$100) head units as well as some nice clear sounding speakers?

Also, if I wanted to add a sub and an amp, how would I do this? How do I wire these to the stereo?

Thanks, and sorry for the such noobish questions.

headunits have rca outputs and remote wire its blue/white run rcas and remote wire to amp run power from battery to amp fused close to the battery ground wire from amp closest good ground possible

For speakers, go with Pioneer REV series, they're some of the best sounding coaxial speakers out there. They can be had online for about $100 a pair. Most well-stocked car audio shops will carry them, so you can give them a listen before buying.
