noob id#375398, quick question..

ok so i just got a new car and need a little adive on what to put in with my tight budget. i got a pretty cheap pioneer deck(cheapest i could find with knobs), set of factory comps in the front and factory 6x9's in the rear. need your opinions on my options:

1. get some after-market comps for the front and ditch my rear 6x9's

2. get some after-market coax 6 1/2's for the front and 6x9's for the back

3. get some after-market 6x9's and just use my factory comps in the front also

also i have no amp so my HU is gonna have to power everything. thanks for your input in advance!

btw- i listen to rock mostly if that matters at all

If you have the spots for components, go that way definitely.

Also, I would re-consider buying an amp...makes a light and day difference.

well i wouldnt want to spend more than $50 TOPS on an amp, is that good enough?

What kind of car is it, some of the newer cars with factory comps have a hidden factory amp to run them.

Its a very crappy one though.

You could get a profile for 70-80ish, that would do the trick.

Well, how do the stock comps sound? What do they lack?

Theres like no midrange to them whatsoever and their sound quality is pretty crappy.

does ur Cor' have 4 or 6 speakers? jw also how "tight" is ur budget?

6 speakers:

6x9's in the back, 6 1/2's in the front doors, and tweeters on the dash

i wanted to spend around $400 total but that might have to include someone putting them in cuz i have no clue what to do..

have u listened to anything? stuff ive heard and love the sound of JBL and Infinity....but stuff thats great according to ppl on here and reviews CDT, Focal, RE, MB Quart, etc etc...

yeah i went out today and listened to some alpine type-s coax and some mb quart's. the mb's sounded a lot clearer but were about $40 more. so i'll prolly end up with the mb's.

one more thing: if anyone in the phoenix area knows of some good audio shops let me know please. i went to to soundwerks today but want to shop around a bit.
