Noise Questions

if your hearing the hissing and the amp is on when the HU is off. then the amp isnt turning off properly... the relay must be attached to a wire that is powered when the ignition is turned on. not to the factory remote wire like it should be.

ok

when the car is off and i turn the HU on ... amp goes on... when i turn HU off amp goes off.

When the car is started... amp is always on .. whether HU is on or off .

I have these wires from the factory bundle:

ground, 12v hot when radio on, 12v always on main wire.

Are your passive crossovers located near any power wire or other power sources? Passives can induce noise when located near a power source or power wire.

nope... far way.

only thing... the harness where it was tapped into for HU signal and speaker leads has a 12v wire, ground, and a remote wire.... but that was like that before with the factory amp. those 3 wires were in the same bundle.

ok so the remote is hooked to the wrong wire. its a wire that gets power when the car is on it should only get power when the HU is on.

so just tell the install guy whats up.

hes telling me that my HU doesnt not have a remote turn on. he hook some test light and showed me something when he touched some wire..

they keep telling me its my HU.. change it will be ok.

i rechecked the relay... everything is wired up properly.

is there another way to wire the relay? i only want amp to come on when the HU is on.

a relay just connects two wires.

Example:

wire from your battery to trunk.

you want it to have power when you turn on your HU.

so you put wire from battery on terminal "A" and wire to trunk on terminal "C"

the relay will not give power to the trunk unless terminal "B" has power.

so when your HU is "on" TERMINAL B will be "powered" and connect TERMINALS "A" AND "C"

Terminal B should be the wire from the Remote "Turn on" from the factory amplifier. you may need to do this considering these guys obviously dont want too....

well if the Terminal B is wired to the factory remote turn for your old amp and it still comes then you will have to get a new HU.

or you could put a switch in.... but you have to turn it on everytime you turn on you HU...

well.... you could do the switch.

or there should have been a remote turn on maybe it was attached to the speakers?... man i have no clue and its too late for me to be of any help sorry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
