Noise>Rockford amp, help

Ive got a noise problem with my 200W Rockford amp.

Ive gone through and weeded everything out and traced it to the amp. Ive switched out amps and the Pioneer I put in to test didnt have any noise.

Also, when I had the Rockford in any vibrations the truck made, like going over a bump in the road or if I put on my brakes, the sub would start playing like its playing a tone and wouldn't stop until I unplugged the amp or turned the truck off.

But I put the Pioneer amp in and it doesn't do that at all. I had thought it would be RCAs but I switch those out too for some new Streetwire ZN6's and it still did it.

Any explanations to this? Can the amp be fixed easily?

I was going to sell it so I could get an alarm and keyless for my truck. Friend is selling me his for $50 BNIB.

Bad ground; When you activate the brakes, there are brakelights, hydraulics and whatnot; Where's the amp grounded?
Its grounded to a bolt in the cab.

Its been fine for a year with no problems, thats what I dont understand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

i had this similar problem, but it was the Y rca connection:), why dont u open up t he amp to see if there is some loose welding on the transistors etc......

Hmmm....

Come to think of it...I didnt start having these problems until I put in the p770mp h/u...

So if the ground for the h/u is bad, it could cause the amp to have noise?

Also, the pioneer amp doesnt have noise except when I turn the LPF off...

So the way I am reading that is that the Pioneer amp does have noise but it is being produced at a high enough frequency that the LPF stops it from being sent to the driver attached to that amp.

Have you connected/disconnected interconnects to the 770 while it was powered on?

About the LPF, yes...Im assuming that is whats happening.
And yes Ive disconnected and connected while it was on.
Then it is highly possible that you're experiencing the infamous Pioneer RCA ground trace dilemma.

There are a couple of production runs of Pioneer head units that if you connect and/or disconnect your interconnects while the unit is powered on then it does something (I am not exactly sure what - I don't run Pioneers but I have read countless threads about this exact problem) to the board inside the unit that can only be remedied by sending it in for repair.

Well.....................guess it was only a matter of time before something happened....

If it wasnt for my bad luck, I wouldnt have any luck at all...
