Noise from subs

The other day a wire came loose from my sub and so i went to fix it. I was driving home and after i got home i left the car running and i had paused the music. Anyway i forgot that i just had it paused and i pulled the sub out of its box. Now it always makes a thud thud noise when ever the headunit comes on even if the volume is on zero. Its sort of like a constant bass line. It is a constant noise too it doesnt just stop after it comes on. Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this? I have 2 12" L7s if it matters. I thought i fixed it once but whenever i would turn music on whenever the bass would hit it would stop playing. Now it does it again.
