'93 Toyota Pickup DLX Extended Cab
2 12" TC2000's sealed around 1.1 each minus the subs displacement
Clarion SRR1027 and Infinity Ref 6022si for front stage
BXi2006D @ 2ohms
Sony XM-4S (hey it fits under my drivers seat, no hating!)
70AMP Alternator
The problem is that I've noticed that with the windows up and over 120db with the subs it starts to sound bad. Doesn't really matter what frequency, lower end sounds sloppy and the upper 50-70hz just makes my roof and doors wave/vibrate so much that I cant tell over the noise if it sounds bad or not. Incidentally this also makes my mids and highs sound like they are distorting.
I understand that with the factory 70 amp alternator that there might be some power issues that could be causing clipping, but I've ordered a 160 drop in replacement alt, a truck box for the bed that I was going to mount some regular car batteries in along with a SP800 battery in the cubby hole bellow the subs (in the floor). So I think I'll have my power problem somewhat sorted. Also theres all the wires for a big3 ordered from knukonceptz (hopefully everything arrives around the same time).
But the main reason I dont believe its a power issue/clipping is because I can roll down the windows and everything sounds great. I can get it up to 135db with the subs without it sounding bad. I've got no plans to ever compete or pretend that my systems something its not, but I like to play it low and loud and most of the time with the A/C on and the windows up. Any ideas on how I can fix what I think is a noise cancellation issue? (besides rolling down my windows heh) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif
Thanks much,
