Thats right bishes...
Let me start off by saying that mods you may move this into a section of the forum where people may see it who might need this info or a guide to package incredibly heavy items..

I am currently in the middle of a transaction totalling over $2,000 dollars for 8 plasma tvs. I have to ship these 8 tvs from Houston TX, to Kentucky. Each tv weighs in around 70 lbs and the shipping materials that i used will easily add an extra 100 lbs. So were talking about a shipping weight that is close to 800 lbs roughly!

What i decided to do was to take 2 pallets that i already had and tear one apart and add a "half" pallet to the other one, making it 48" X 58" And i need the height to be ~40".

Here is a picture of the 1 and a 1/2 pallet along with some packing supplies and lumber i used..

5/8" thick plywood and 1 X 4s...

here is the base of the crate..

I then added the floor to the top of the base..

After that i decided that i would use some of the extra cardboard and laid 2 layers of cardboard down and tacked it to the plywood floor. Whether or not this will help, i have no idea but it seemed like a good idea, i will probably even add a couple more layers to give a good base for the delicate tvs.

Now this crate will be so heavy when its loaded that i wont be able to lift it, so once i get the uhaul here and all the pieces finished ill put the crate on the trailer and then load it, and then nail in the sides. However i can do all but one side before then so i went ahead and started on the 2 ends, im not quite done adding bracing but you get the idea..

And thats where it sits as of now, ill update as progress is done. please give me any advice or pointers or praise, ive been working my *** off...

LOL, not even done yet, item hasn't arrived yet and you haven't tested it yet. I'll trust my tried and true method any day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Again, this is also a "looking for ideas" thread, which is why i didnt wait until it was over, anything can be improved upon.

But as usual no help, only remarks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

ghey.

And why are you building a crate if it's just going in a UHaul anyway? There are much easier and cheaper ways to keep them safe if you don't have to trust some retard UPS thower.

The uhaul is to get the crate from my house to the freight shipping company..

***.

Oh and please fill me in on the cheaper way for me to get 800 lbs worth of delicate equipment 1500 miles from me? Maybe just throw them on my magic carpet?
