No sound coming from any speakers, amplifier not getting power

Heard my amp click off while going down the road the other day, and now I'm not getting sound from any speaker and the amp won't come back on. I've double checked all of my fuses and the wiring connections, and everything looks good. Is this a sign the amp is blown, or should I look elsewhere for the problem? Are there any other easy things I could check before taking it to an audio shop to have them look at it? If it was only my sub that wasn't working, that would be one thing, but since every speaker kicked off at once I'm not sure where to start looking.

Thanks guys.

When you said you heard the amp click off. Did it make an abnormal sound or did it usually make a clicking sound when it turned off?

It could also be the remote on from the deck.

It sounded like the usual sound it makes when it turns off.

Easiest thing to check is to give the remote on wire +12v and see if the amp powers. Also, did you check the power and groud wire with a dmm?
I don't have a dmm on hand....but this is as good excuse as any to go buy one. I'll try to grab one tomorrow and see what I find.

It's a great tool to have on hand.

Check that the remote on lead is registering 12v (with the black lead connected to a ground)

Check the batteries voltage.

Check the voltage from the amps power lines. (Sometimes ground connections get rusty at point of connection to the frame.)

If all the fuses are good on the amp itself and everything else checks out, then I would have the amp inspected.

If it's not an expensive amp it's sometimes cheaper to get a replacement.

Its an AQ 1200D (~$250), really hope I don't have to replace it. I was trying to cover all my bases before I went down that road.

Thanks for the help.
