no power to head unit

i have a 2002 chevy trailblazer without bose and no onstar. i purchased an after market jvc head unit. i got a wiring harness from walmart and after completing the wiring i get no power to the unit. i switched and got another harness checking to see if it was the harness. i have had a aftermarket unit before. i would like to know some thing to try.

if it's what I'm thinking, you have to run your own accessory wire for this vehicle. i can't remember 100%, tho.
