Replaced my amp for my interiors and everything was werking fine....then all of a sudden...my speakers jus cut out on me,....and now I hear nothing but my bass...Honestly..I rewired in a rush cuz it started raining on me outta no where...so I couldnt tell what I was doing with the speaker wire......Is copper pos+ and silver -???or vice verse.....I really hope that I didnt mess up the amp. I mean, it powers up but no sound. Could I have blown my speakers....They are only 35watts rms...aond the kicker pushes out twice that...

uhhhhhh im venting...

please someone give me advise....

Reconnect the remote turn on wire.?

Fix the short in the power terminals?

Just geusses here, I doubt that you blew the speakers that quickly

isnt silver + and copper -?
Doesn't really matter. As long as you're consistent and ensure that the + on the amp connects with the + on the driver.

If you accidently connected the driver out of phase, then this wouldn't blow your speaker. It would just degrade your SQ - particularly the bass.

Usually red, orange, gold and copper signify positive. Black, clear, silver and brown signify negative
That's the logic that I use too, but I've heard people say the opposite. Doesn't matter though, one color isn't going to impede or aid the transfer of electricty better than the other. Just need to ensure that the polarity is correct.

Well I was wondering if i connect the pos wire to the negative on the amplifier, if it would cause the amp to fry the channels or something. I was checking the wiring, and everything looks okay...I have sound now..but its very distored...and very low. Sounds like its only being powered off of one channel.

Man... Someone help me...cuz I dont know how much longer I could live w/o music.

You can reverse the polarity on the speaker outputs without damaging the amp, it just puts the speaker out of phase and make them sound shitty (not like your describing though)

Do you have shitty paper cone speakers in the doors?, after time they absorb moisture and goto shit.

A speaker that has the terminals hooked up in a sloppy manner(wires sticking out) can cause the amp to cut out, as the shitty hook up can short out to the negative terminal or to to the speaker frame.

A melted voice coil will either make the amp cut out or sound really scratchy and terrible.

I think your going to have to check each speaker to verify that the terminals are connected correctly and check to see if the speaker itself is damaged.

I said shitty 4x in this post //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/woot.gif.aaa6090e619a97b6090d16dd863c5a69.gif (such a bad *** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif )
