I have a peice of shit Dual CD/MP3 Headunit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif in my car as of right now (No money. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif ). Anyway, I have no dimmer wire from the headunit's wiring to plug into my car's dimmer wire, and now I have no turn signals... Can anyone tell me how I can bypass this for the time being, until I can get my Pioneer P5800MP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif. I get paid in 2 weeks, so it won't be too long that I have to live with this **** Dual. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

yea dimmer wires are if you want the lights on the faceplate for the headunit to dim when the headlights turn on so its not as bright at night time.

if you really wanted to you could hook it up to your headlight switch, iirc 12v signal to the dimmer sets the lights dim. but i could be wrong.

imo - i never hooked them up. lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I need the dimmer switch, I can't use my turn signals if I don't have my dimmer switch hooked up. I have personally never hooked up the dimmer switch either. But, I have heard from several other people that my dimmer switch is why I have no turn signals...

ive never heard of such a thing.. why would the dimmer wire have anything to do with your turn signals? Most people never hook the dimmer wires up anyways as they prefer the headunit not to dim. It should have no effect on your turn signals. Maybe you just need a new turn signal switch or multifunction switch. Did this problem show up when you pulled the factory radio or what?

you must of pulled something wrong, or something, because your dimmer switch should have no effect on your turn signals. your turn signals are not even wired into your dimmer options. something else must be wrong. check the fuses on your turn signal if ou havent already, and just install your HU. because even without a dimmer on your HU, you will still have your turn signals.

It's a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am SE Sport Coupe, and I have checked all the fuses. I wouldn't think it was the dimmer switch either, but my girlfriend's brother told me it was the dimmer switch, which he works with vehicles ALL day, people from eCoustic's forum told me it was the dimmer switch. And, I did nothing but take the stock HU out, and plug in the other HU.

I still think they are retarded. Look, grab the orginal radio.. plug it back it.. if your turn signals all of a sudden work then they may be on to something. If it does not work.. the dimmer wire theory is out the door.

You'd be surprised what might cause turn signals to malfunction or cease working at all.

When I had my motor replaced earlier this year before the car was completely put back together the dash bezel was still off but we were checking to see if everything worked as it should after all the wiring was reattached to the replacement engine.

Everything worked.....but my turn signals! Turned out to be caused by the button on the dash for my hazard lights not being plugged in and consequently the blinkers wouldn't work at all.

'Twas weird to me anyway...
