The guy that is doing my alt. said that I shouldn't run deep cycle batteries with a high output alt. Is there any truth to this? Why? I am getting a 180a alt. and I am currently running 2 Die Hard gold 750a batteries. With an alt like that can I stay with the die hards or should I go with a deep cycle or 2?

This is just a guess, but I know that deep cycles are designed to be run low then recharged, as opposed to constant charging like your car's alt. will do. I don't know, but maybe constant charging w/o running them down can shorten thier life.

Seems logical to me.

Anything worth getting is always worth it more at a steep discount. Not familiar with that unit, but the brand is great.
