no bass? why?

Hey guys, a friend gave me his rockford power series 851s. ive hooked it up and everything looks good but im getting very low output. If i crank the sub-w output and bass on the headunit i get a little bass but nothing what it should be..... im not useing the punchbass control, do you think the fact that im not using it be causeing this?

its the bass control unit that gets mounted up front.

no, ive used many RF amps without the knob and have never had that occur

we need more info on your install

what size power wire are you using?

what sub and what load did you wire to?

what are your settings on the set to? gain? bass boost(should be off) lpf? ssf? etc

it's hard to tell what the problem is if you didn't tell us in detail your setup
