No Bass from Sub

Just tried to hook up my new sub (DVC 2ohm) free-air to see how it sounds. Wired it in parallel (1ohm)and in series (4ohm), but I'm not getting any output. If I unplug the wires and plug them back into my RL-p thats in the car I get bass. What exactly am I doing wrong? I've done this a million times, checked that no wires were loose, retried it 3 times but I'm not getting and bass from the sub.

I hate spring terminals. My dumb *** didn't push in one of the two wires into the terminal far enough //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif. Kind of hard to fit two 10awg wires into that little thing. It was in enough to keep from falling out when I tugged on it, but I guess that wasn't a good enough connection. I ended up thinning the ends enough to get them in nice and secure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
