No bass boost without remote?

A friend of mine just purchased a Rockford Fosgate P5002 amplifier and it is not pushing his Type R at all. I think it is because there is no bass boost on the amp, only on the remote, which he does not have. I couldn't find any bass boost on the head unit either (it is a Kenwood with a subwoofer input) What are my options here?

You should not use bass boost to make your sub louder. Upgrade your electrical or substage if you want louder.

whats the impedance of the sub cause that amp will only get good power bridge at 4ohm,that could be your problem unless its a d2 type r but i dont think it is
