nitro car engines?

how do I know what engine will fit in what car?
assuming I bought a cheap nitro car, and wanted to put a bigger engine in it...

would it just be a case of modding it to fit? or what?

thankyou! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I would stay away from smart tech. Hard to find parts for , and are inferior cars . Cen is a cheaper manufacturer , with more parts available. but it also depends on where you want to run it . Most on road and touring cars only have like a 1/2" ground clearance at most . Tiny pebble at 70 mph = nasty wrecks. Unless you have a humongous smooth parking lot at your disposal , I would get a big block monster truck. Lighten it up , run 15-20% nitro. 70 mph with a 20lb monster truck is fooking fast . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok, then how do I get the most from a .15 engine then? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
There are some engine tuners , that have figured out ways to port and polish the little two strokes . Increases in hp aren't very much . Most of the speed comes from getting the gearing , tires, and driving skills down. Get the most from the .15 by breaking it in properly , keeping it clean and in tune //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oh well, I bought the one off ebay //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I'd already bid before I started this thread anyway...

I mean, it came to $AU250, including an electric starter, and the extra tool kit thingo and postage, etc, so, thats $AU250 in my hands basically... $AU250 is $US195, so, its not the much, and a similar car in a local hobby shop would have cost like 400 bucks, so I dont mind //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

should be fun!!!

not too bad. Now just make sure you break the motor in properly . And it should last you some time with proper up keep //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yeah, and dont attempt jumps, or take it off road //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Chit , if it's a touring car (4wd) you will 'jump' every pebble you hit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Don't know if smartech has anything like it . But some of the other touring car manufacturers offer rally kits for their touring cars . So you can run them somewhat off road //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I did that to an old Pro 15 I used to have. It actually worked pretty good and I could tell a big difference from stock.

I am getting back into r/c car racing onroad electric touring.
so far I am into it $2500 and I havent even put it on the track yet.
Good god man , going brushless with lipos or something ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

eh thats about right for spares tires and all that nonesense you wouldnt think about. i dropped about 2k into my mugen prospec buggy between engines and spare engines, a good 10 or 15 sets of tires so i have different treads and a couple of each. i could see 2500 into a good setup

No.. but I am now wishing I had gone lipo brushless after reading about it...

Tamiya races are awsome!! its not about whos got more money to spend.

Only raced on road one season , and there were only like five cars . I switched to off road and haven't looked back since //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
