Lol I just like making fun of him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

As for finals prediction, I'll say Anaheim in 6 as well. Emery has been pretty good throughout the playoffs, but his rebound control has been awful, and Giggy has been amazing throughout the playoffs.

The tide turner will be Ottawa's top line and their ability to control giggy laterally, as well as Ott's ability to block shots (volchenkov/philips/etc) that will come in from the point. T-bone (Selanne) will have to step up his play and the Getzlaf line will have to continue like it has been going. Travel will also play a small role, with the advantage going to Anaheim due to the Detroit series.

ducks in 6, but hopefully 5 so they can win it in their building:)
quack............quack................quack............QUACK QUACK QUACK!
you went from a shark fan to a duck fan awfully quick //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

is their horn better?

Detroit needs to make a play on a UFA goalie this offseason. Giggy's out there at the moment, as well as Backstrom, Weekes, Nittymaki, and a few others.
with the tigers and pistons, i really didn't get a chance to watch the wings as much, but i gotta say i really like the way datsuyk plays. he is just fun to watch. i have realized this has nothing to do with your quote but i'm just gonna keep going instead of fixing it

Yeah, look how much they're paying for a 69 point player. Rangers are looking like the Rangers of old...just throwing money around instead of building a team. I'd be pissed at those contracts.

Philly's facelift is almost complete...they're going to be interesting to watch next year.

NYI got *****....savagely. It's a good thing nobody really cares about them.

i don't see what chris drury and chris gomez have done but throwing 7 million a year plus to some players who score about 70 pts a year is just insane but analyst seem pretty high on these guys. while my boy Big Joe signed an extension for 3 years around 21 million. he could have gotten way more but said he wanted to give the sharks some cap space to sign other players. Joe easily could have gotten at least 8-9 million if he tested the market. thats a true team player right there.

It's not just about how many points they tally. Drury was an excellent leader in Buffalo and every team would die to have him on their roster.

As for Gomez, he played in a system that didn't suit his talents in NJ. Give him a chance in a more open system and I think he'll step up big time. I'd say 35-40 goals and ~80 points out of Gomez next season.

Now all the Rangers have to do is lock up Hank and sign Avery, Prucha, and Shanny and they're looking pretty good. Nylander will most likely be gone since there doesn't seem like there will be enough $$ under the cap to keep him, which is a bummer, but I'm sure the additions of Drury and Gomez will more then make up for it.

As for the Flyers, they've made some great moves, but their goaltending is a bit sketchy. Biron had some excellent seasons in Buffalo but lost the starting gig and eventually got shipped to Philly, and Nitty is still unproven IMO. Can't really gauge either goalie on last years performances with the Flyers, because they were terrible, and their defense was non-existent.

glad the wings picked up rafalski. while the rangers are overpaying for forwards, the wings are shoring up their defense. loosing bertuzzi and lang were no big deals. probably means more icetime for filpula. also the wings signing datsyuk at 7 million for 7 years looks even better now with these signings.

Drury/Gomez and Rafalski's deals are pretty close in terms of numbers. 5 year/30mil for Brian(avg 6mil/yr), 5 year/35mil for Chris (7mil/yr), and 7 yr/51mil for Gomez (7.3mil/yr). Considering what was on the market, and the general consensus that Gomez/Drury were two of the top 3 forwards available- the other being Briere, and that both were within their conference, I think they're great deals for the Rangers.

The Rangers are in pretty good shape defensively- they added Mara at the trading deadline and he played great for them down the stretch, and Girardi was a nice surprise coming up towards the end of the season. Malik is a solid defender with size, and Pock, Tyutin, and Rozsival are all very good, young players.

Like I said, once the Rangers lock up Henrik, Avery, Shanahan, and Prucha, they'll be in good shape.
