His play has already improved considerably over last years. His backchecking and defensive awareness have increased, as has his balance and speed. He's far better than his numbers suggest. There's a reason Jagr demanded that Hemsky play on his line at the worlds. I used to play with some decent NHL talent (Comrie, Stoll (sort of, training camp) ) about 8-10 years ago and in Hemsky I see far more potential. There's a reason Mac T signed him to a 6 year deal. Petr Sykora says Hemsky is the most talented player he's ever played with. Considering his run with Jersey and specifically Elias, that's saying a lot. He's good shit

i skate with pat kane alot, i grew up with him, projected top 5 draft pick this year. Now, hes gonna be a special talent in the NHL.

St Albert is where I grew up playing hockey, right next to Edmonton. Mark Messier's from here, Comrie brothers a few others. It's a huge hockey city.

Red Wings beat the Calgary Flames tonight. Wings had a 6 - 1 lead after 2 periods and got a little sloppy and let the Flames get some cheap goals to cut the lead to 6 - 4. Then Franzen scored on a 2 on 1 break and made it 7 - 4 which ended up being the final. I'm glad they won but I hate the fact that they let them score a few at the end because the game really wasn't anywhere near as close as the score indicates.

Went to the Oilers game tonight. Atlanta looked about as flat as they did yesterday against Vancouver. Sykora had 3pts, Torres had a couple, same with Hemsky. A strong outing before their biggest road trip of the year (7 games). Might have lost Pisani for a couple games after a big hit game him a mild concussion. Boston next.

nashville gave up way to much for a guy who is a injuy liability and a free agent at the end of the year...scottie upshall along with another player and 2 picks is alot considering how good of a prospect Upshall is...Nashville better hope foresberg is healthy or they got ripped

nashville gave up way to much for a guy who is a injuy liability and a free agent at the end of the year...scottie upshall along with another player and 2 picks is alot considering how good of a prospect Upshall is...Nashville better hope foresberg is healthy or they got ripped

It's for a cup run. Nashville has a lot of young talent, the can stand to lose some. Liability? Sure, in the regular season. Doesn't miss too many playoff games.

Ageed. Forsberg has alot of post season experience and grew to love to hate him over his years in Colorado. We all knew this was going to happen, just didn't know which team was going to go after him. This does **** for the Red Wings though. There were actually rumors that Detroit was talking to the Flyers. In a way I'm glad they didn't get him as I get to hate him still.

After Zetterberg's first career hat trick on Saturday night the Red Wings have taken over the top spot in the Western Conference and only one point behind Buffalo for the top spot in the entire league. Not too bad for a team that wasn't supposed to be a good team by Detroit standards. I know this doesn't mean much but it's nice to know they're in the hunt.
