you couldnt have possesion of the puck in the crease or interfere with the goaltender. and after the game, listening to the radio on the way home, they literally re-wrote the rules so that the goal was justified, and look today, there is no crease rule because of that night, you can ask any fan from buffalo, and they will all say, the Nhl was just trying to cover their *** that night because they know they made the wrong call

i liked the nhl better in the late 90's. those colorado-detroit games were classics

osgood and vernon went at it with roy. i like the osgood one cause no one ever expected osgood to be the type to go toe to toe with roy. he was too mild tempered and to actually put up a good fight

again, ill agree with you that that rivalry was one of the greatest when it was in its prime

Felix Potvin vs Ron Hextal back in 1996 stays in my mind, potvin was so much smaller the hextal and he beat the piss out him.

The best one of the rivalry was when McCarty was pummeling Lemeiux while Vernon was fighting Roy. THere were others fighting too but all you could see were jerseys, gloves, sticks, and helmets all over the ice. The refs let it go too. Detroit trailed by 2 goals two different times in that game and came back to win it and then added insult to injury.

Then in the post season the Red Wings were the ones who eliminated Colorado in the Western finals on there way to sweeping Philly for the cup.

Yeah, I would have to agree. NOT SO YAY this year. 6 points out of the final playoff spot. Not totally out of it yet though, still have a chance to get in.

So whats so great about Hemsky.?? 9 goals and 33 assists isn't much to brag about.

hemsky is a real good prospect, hes gotta mature, but he'll be a great player

Yeah, that shows how much I DO NOT watch Edmonton. I was just curious is all. I see he's only in his 4th season.
