NEWBIE,new system,lookin for ideas

Hey guys i'm robert from colorado, looking to do a big project in my dodge magnum....i've had about 6 cars now all with nice systems, always ran the 2 15" and 1000 watts, but lookin to go real big!

i have my money stacked up and am looking into the 18"fi btl fully loaded, looking at pushing 2000watts rms to it, let me know what you think, will the btl be good for a daily use sub?

i want something that i can use (almost every day) to listen to my screw music, but something that will also hang in there if i ever decide to enter a local db drag in town.....

You have a trillion options

First off, the BTL is agood choice and will do well with the power you stated, there are other options though.

Two 15's

Two 18's sealed

One 18 ported

Four 12's Ported even maybe

Are you wanting asingle sub, or what?

Then yes, 2k rms and an 18" BTL should work out nicely. Remember to spend the money and get a nicely built box. It's worth it.

yeah i was looking to do the single 18" since it is something i have never done, i was always stuck on the pair of 15's but want to change it up, i was lookin to do the btl ported,it requires 5-8 cubic ft, and 30-35hz, i hvae also never built ported, so the whole project will be a new and challenging task!

i have saw some talent around here and have saw a few members who will draw up a blue print of an enclosure for a couple bucks......

i know the btl has a street option when ordering it, but i was wanting to make sure that this is honestly something i can listen to "on a regular basis", it would **** to throw this money into my system and have the sub not last....

thanks man! sounds good, yeah the box is what will probably give me the most trouble, but i hate having things done at those stereo shops, if i take the time i can spend a little cash on some supplies and do the same thing they try to charge $400-$500 out here for, plus its a good feeling to know you did the whole thing...

i've done head rest tv's, visor tv's fiberglass work, but never built a ported enclosure,im in no rush, just hoping to have this ready by next summer....

its gonna be a loooong winter out here
