Newb question, RCA cables, what is the small wire for?

Yes the small wire in the middle is your amp remote. I wondered the same thing when it came... To be honest I spread the wires some and ripped about 8" out before realizing what is actually was //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Actually its for u to ground it, that way it helps by somehow filterin or doing somethin to the signal and help from ground loop or any kind of distortion... btw you shouldnt run the power wire/remote on the same side as the RCAs.

Ummmm.... don't listen to this guy. lol

It's meant to be a remote turn-on lead... with SOME units, grounding the RCAs is a possibility, but that's not what this wire is intended for.

And running a remote turn-on lead near your RCAs isn't going to cause you problems.

Ok, by remote turn on, do you mean for a remote control? Because my amp didn't come with a remote control.
no its for when you turn on your headunit it will turn on the amp. Has nothing to do with a remote that is extra. Sends a signal to the amp telling it when to turn on and off.

the "turn-on lead" plugs into your radios "remote" output. requires soldering or a use of buttconnector(spelling). all this does is send a singal to amp letting the amp know that the radio is on so the amp can turn on. otherwise if it didnt have that remoteline at all then you amp would be on all the time and drain battery.

if it was meant as a remote, why would they include another remote wire??? and, why is it shorter on one end?? dont you think that if it was meant as remote they would of left some play for you to be able to connect without a problem on both ends.
