Very new to car audio.. but not entirely new to acoustic studies.
One question.
On a scale of 1-10 how hard would you rate the construction of this ring in MDF or Fiberglass?
One loaded comment full of questions.
I've been reading a ton of this forum and a couple others and I do not see anyone doing rounded port bends. Has it been done much? Are there stigmas attached to it?
Has anyone every thought of making a box out of a slightly less dense material but that is tuned to a certain pitch or frequency (ala taking drum shells and cutting them for their round edges and lengths and capping them to make a box?) I know subwoofer tubes have been done.. but I wonder if something like an "abc" box has been done with rounded port bends and adjusting the bends for and or size of end port for the amount of air velocity that is achieved and/or obstructed?)
Just very curious about all this stuff.. I am in the middle of building my very first "system".. at the ripe ol' age of 28.. in a VW rabbit... convertible.. haha
Thanks for the listen.
