Dont know if anyone saw this or not but this is what david's reply was to someone over on their forum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif. I think I'd rather get my hands on two of the new mags if I'm gonna spend that much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

MSRP for the XXX will not be $600. Direct price will be more than that.$700 for the XXX from an authorized dealer is a great deal.

I dont think anyone realizes how monstrous this sub really is.

....I wonder if its before shipping too? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

COMPLETELY CUSTOM TOOLED SUBWOOFER...NO OFF THE SHELF PARTS.

What is so hard to understand? Do you realize how much money was spent on it, all the fabrication, and re-frabrication, and re-re-fabrication...and design, re-design, and re-re-design, and MORE.

Damn n00bxes...

please explain to us n00bxes how this equates into justifying a $700 or so price tag? I realize it cost way more to design being that most parts are custom, but I'm not gonna drop $700 just for a pretty sub. At double the price of the old xxx will it give double the performance of the old, that's what I want to know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

It just might. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

PS: I guess people REALLY don't have a **** clue how much complete custom fabrication of parts, specifically metal parts can cost. Especially to be cast...and other such tight regulated parts...

Pocket change...
Potato business must have been strong the past year //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

When the W7 came out, didn't people drop $1000 per sub? I would think the new XXX would definately be worth the money.
They deserved to get robbed if they paid that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. I have never heard of any dropping a grand for a w7 though.

To share some info: you have to know and understand how much toolings cost if they are not modified standard tools. Each one is different, but a new basket tooling can cost up to $4g. That is PER FRAME SIZE. A surround tooling can cost up to $3g per frame size, then you have on this sub a possible proprietary neo tooling, that is super cheap, just like the other toolings listed above! Hope you realize that's a joke. If you change the spider to a new one, again....tooling money and then the cone. If you change the pitch, that is a new tool if you are not using an inventory tool that the manufacturer has already. Cones can be upward of $2.5g per frame size. Dust caps, for those that get retarded with those things. Money ontop of money ontop of money just to get the parts made. Now, try to amateurize that into what, MAYBE 400 they might sell the first year of production. $700 could just end up being cheap for all that was put into them.

And to answer that last reply: when the JL 13.5W7 came out, along with the JBL GTi 15" spacecraft........ we got $1300.00 per sub for nearly a year.
