it's not fair for those dune buggy guys, their shit's so light. a co-worker of mine had a dunebuggy that was souped up a little, had a 1600 but had new heads, dual carbs and a few more goodies, and he'd hit the gas and get perpendicular. i can't even squeal my tires with my 1600 lol

I can chirp them in second lol. Its pretty slow though....I'm thinking of restoring it....It'd be wickid fast with a 6 in it lol.

-lower it

-paint it black

-2.5% tint all the way around and 35% on teh windshield

-pinstripe on the side to match the wheels. no racing stripe

-black out the headlights and taillights but replace them with hid in the front and -

-led in the back so you dont get pulled over.

right on with the first four, those are for sure. the only thing is i don't know about the % of tints, as i'm not too well versed on the tint laws in michigan, and i actually have to follow them because Livonia cops are some of the biggest pricks in the world. i got a ticket for an air freshener hanging from my mirror once...

as for the lights, i want to do soemthing with them i'm just not so sure yet.

I dont know what they make for those but see if you can get fenders with lights that are molded in lets say from a mini cooper or something. see if someone has the metal work to do that for you. or see if theres something like that even available. and then shave the turn signals from the front and it will be in the aftermarket headlight assembly.

I gotta agree, but its no big deal. There's alot worse things on the road, and it should be better with that paint done.

Those things are ugly as sin with them on right now. I would have painted the car and then lowered it and then slapped them on and it might look better. I personally like old school way with those years, but hey whatever floats your boat. i put serious thought into that, but everbody either has empi 8 spokes or porsche rims it seems, i didn't want to be just another "man those are sweet porsche rims on your old vw" car owner

the only reason i did brakes/wheels first is i didn't feel safe at some times with my drums. nothing like going through a deep puddle and then having no braking power...

those aren't stock rims, they were empi 8 spokes, and they're on a lot of beetles. i wanted something different. empi 8 spokes and porsche wheels probably make up like 90% of aftermarket wheel choices on old vws and i just got sick of looking at them
