China's military manpower is 1,750,000. They do have 350 million able bodies fit for military service, but lets be serious do you actually think the chinese government could employ an army of 150 million.

IMO, I honestly don't think these situations would have escalated to the point they are right now without the current Iraq war. Think about it. It's alot easier to sling a missle toward Hawaii (NK), threaten US interests (NK and Iran), and continue the enrichment of uranium (Iran and NK) with the US tied up in a war in which there is no way to win. Money, manpower, and other militry resources are being consumed in the middle east and will be unavailable for a conflict should it arise at this point in time. The floundering public approval for the war we are in now will affect the reaction to current incidents. Can you honestly think that NK, or Iran for that matter, would be pursuing some of the things they are if the US had its full military potential and international support (which was shit on with Iraq)?

NK has been designing this Taepodong missile for 5-6 years now, i remember reading in Time magazine a long *** time ago that US intelligence KNEW that this missle would be able to hit Hawaii. I know it was at least 4 years ago. And they are finally testing it now? And we are finally worried about it?

What does this link show exactly?? That china has 14million active troops? Even with paramilitary (which isn't real military) there still about 135million short of the 150mil.

What does this link show exactly?? That china has 14million active troops? Even with paramilitary (which isn't real military) there still about 135million short of the 150mil.

this link shows that your original number of 1,750,000 was incorrect that they have 2,255,000 active troops. remember that's only the active. that's not their entire "man power" the link also shows how china's army compares with the rest of the worlds..

yeah my numbers were from '04 and i didn't get them from wikipedia. So i was off buy a couple hundred thousand when the point was they don't have 150 million.
