if you want the best picture you gotta get something with 1080 resolution in the first place, ive heard LCD's put out the best HD quality...havent had the 3-4 different types of HD tv's with the same screen resolution right next to each other so I couldnt tell you which one looks the best from experience. Also im pretty sure LCD's last the longest, and are the cheapest to maintain....even though its still VERRRRRY expensive... one of our lenses just broke for whatever reason..... 1600 bucks to replace (THANK GOD FOR WARRANTIES!!)

You just said 1080. you didnt say 1080i or 1080p. If you meant 1080i then i would have to tell you that 720P would have a better image over all. problem with any form of "I", interlace, is when ever something is moving on the image it doesnt stay sharp all the time it gets kinda blurry, a prime example would be a pan shot, when the camera is pannin from one side to another side of an object, scene. The differances between LCD vs Plasma are minium now days, the only REAL downside to a plasma is a glare on the screen lol. either way its not realy cheap to maintain, once they go out they go out unless you bought the plasma or LCD MONITORS, where you can replace circuitry like a computer

i don't know....i just bought this 62" Mitsubishi LCD Model WD-62528 on scratch and dent from ABC warehouse. I've tried watching dvd's with it and absolutely hate it.It just seems like the black portions of the screen try to consume the rest of the picture, no matter how much i try i can't correct it. Luckily i called my man that i bought it from and he said they can take it back. I think i'm definately going with a Sony Grand Wega now.

Also, after extensive reading on the subject, i've discovered that the human eye is not capable of distinguishing the difference between 720p and 1080p on a screen less then 50" or so. I don't know if in fact that is true since i have not attempted to see this myself, but i've literally read myriads of different sources from within the industry and in independant lab tests that support this.

if you get a plasma you need to get comcast HD. normal cable looks worst i think than on regular tube tvs.

If your going the plasma way i would get what i have or the Samsung

The reason why i bought the Hitachi is bc it runs cooler and it was 3 hdmi inputs and it swivels, and the fujitsu screen.
