New truck, new setup rec's

Back at it again planning a new setup for a Chevy 2500 extended cab. I'm starting from scratch and looking for an efficient single 15" sub setup around 1k rms. My last setup included two SA-8 V3s under the rear seats facing forward and they sounded great but I was always worried about people kicking my subs when they sat in the back seat. This time around I'm thinking about putting one 15 facing forward with a port either facing forward or up and using the box as a rear seat. I have as much box space as needed since ill be either keeping the back seat up or taking it out completely.

TIA - TL/DR

Vehicle: Silverado 2500 Ext. cab

Number of subs preferred: 1

Size preferred (if configuration allows): 15"

Budget: $500ish for sub and amp (willing to buy a used amp if needed)

Power to be used (which amp(s), include which resistance): around 1k @ 1ohm

Space available: as much as needed.. back seat removed

Goals: SQ>SPL

Listening habits: wide variety: punk rock, edm, rap, etc

Preferred brands/subs/whatever: I've had good results with Sundown Audio.. efficient amp, reliable sub

very good amp (little over priced) just run 1 sa off it?, perfect.. also please look at car audio bargain I think sa is $199 amp cheaper too (bstock nothing at all wrong with them but they only have 30day warranty)

I have the airspace for 3, but yea just one to keep the cost down.. good call on that website, they have the pair for 430 shipped. So far on my enclosure drawings I have 8.9 cu ft before the port/sub/bracing displacement and SA recommends 4 cu ft.. anyone know if the SA-15s like a bit of extra airspace?

or u could do 2 12's instead of 15".. while on that site look at cab amp $199 1600rms, it weighs 30 pounds.. just got one for a kid but his truck ***** so can't really give review of the amp but everyone seems to like them.. sundown is better no doubt just don't know if they worth twice the for less power.. u could so 2 -12's on that amp or 1 sub if u don't wanta run all that power it does 1200 at 2ohm, good for 1 sub, I ran my pioneer on it for few mins but it was in his horrible truck, still I thought it was as loud as both his 12's (my old orion hp).. have to get @BoominTAHOE to tell u about box size he has 2 X's

Here's the thing about efficiency.. I have two batteries and plan on a minor upgrade to a 160A alternator, but that CAB does 1600 watts rms while drawing 184 amps while the SA does a little over 1000 rms and only draws 35 amps.. the efficiency isn't even comparable but if you want to throw on a 240A alternator you're gucci. Only thing is, 240A+ alternators go for $500+ from what i've seen. maybe you can find a deal but you could get two SA 1000 watt amps and still only need 70A and spend an extra $230 instead of $500 for the alternator.

TL/DR

2 SAE 1000d amps = 2200k rms / $460 / 70A draw

1 CAB 1600.1 amp + HO alt = 1600 rms / $700 / 184A draw
