New Truck Forum

I have ran a few different forums and never heard of the software you are using, I would suggest running something like vBulletin if you don't mind spending a little money or phpBB or SMF if you are looking for free.

You will get much better community support and available hacks/mods for the forum if you go with one of these..

Good luck with your forum, I have setup about 10 different ones and only one took off the rest failed like Sblazer on the biggest looser. Still the forum that did work out only has about 10000 posts and 300 users and it took 3 years to get there.

Very hard to get new members starting with nothing, you best bet is if you are a member on another forum try to get some users from there to start posting, you can also do something like Adwords to get some traffic if you are willing to spend the money. You can probably get some ok traffic I would personally start with about $50/wk to keep it cheap but kind of get the ball rolling.

When people login and see a dead forum it just looks bad and 95% of the time they will close the browser and go back to FSC or whatever forum they are on.

it just started so i wanted to get the solid sections up, ill start posting in the sections. i am working on mysql to set up a database for php but that wont be donw anytime soon. i also have to make a cover page for trucksunited.com

im on a ton of forums so it should be ok for now. just trying to get into the whole html-php thing! very hard shit

And if theres a way you should put the "Active Discussions" on the top instead of the bottom

Kinda find this portion a little funny... "Weather you have 32in boggers or 18in rims, we wanna seem them!" My trucks got 18" rims, but its factory tires are 33's but only highway tread. Maybe something like 40in boggers would sound a bit better and be more of a contrast.
