Is that true in general?

Depends on the sub...there are different methods of cooling other than the vented pole piece...DD cuts slits in their top plates, RE and several other companies use the vented 12 spoke baskets...

when a shop around sacramento called audio xpress. not the 1 dollar instll was competing. they had 2 of them running 9000 watts to both of them. they had 9 crossfie 1000d strapped and 9 batterys underneatht the amps in the trunk in a tercel. they were hitting around 150-160 db like 3-5 years ago.

they had them at the B pillars in a ported box that took up the entire amount of space from the b pillar back. they had to steal reinforce the magnets cause one of them broke off of the basket.

they slam like no other. as long as you have alot of power.

i have 2 of the 10" SS in my car. and soon i will be running about 1500Wrms to both of them. cause they want about 750Wrms each sub.

they sound really good also. i get alot of compliments.

I HAVE A 10" TREO SS that the tensil leads are bad. they just need to be fixed if anyone wants to buy it let me know. just for 1 10" SS

lol, I plan to keep them though. They are huge though, they weigh more than the IDQ8's.

**** iasca is too **** picky about how i should mount the horns.
