New to the site, gotta few questions regarding powerbass 2xl 15s

Whats good everyone, I been out of the car audio scene since high school and now that I got my 68 chevy caprice almost done I was looking to put some hit in my trunk (which is HUGE btw). A friend of mine gave me a box with 2 powerbass 2xl 15s because it wouldn't fit in his car. I was just wondering what would be a good amp to push them. My budget is ~$500- $1000 but I'd like to keep it closer to the lower end. Any other upgrades I should be looking into? I was thinkin about upgrading the battery (Yellow Top) to replace the stock one, but didn't know if it would be immediately necessary...
