new to site need some advice from the pros

ok here is the deal my son races motocross and he turns 16 at the end of the month so last year we bought him a 1998 e250 van put some 20 inch rims on it and had a sytem put in it it has 2 bats 15 inch drop down screen a plastation 2 a 7 inch indash a cheap sony 4 channell 600 watt amp pushing 4 eclipse 5x7s and a 2000 watt performance tek pushing three 12 inch dhd subs now here is my question

he wants more bass imagine that lol

what should i do

it has become a competion between him and his buddys out at the track to see who can have the sickest van and im trying to be the cool dad and hook him up with a killer bass system .

i have about 600 to spend on the sub amp and subs

i would like to put 15s in it is this possible for the money i have

Build a good ported box for them and he'll be pretty darn loud. You'll also need to upgrade to at least 4gauge wire if you haven't already. You can find some better stuff for the same price if you're willing to buy used off the forums...or off of craigslist.

thanks for the advice but i dont think that stuff is any better than what he has already and the van has 0 gauge power wire from the spare bat to a distro block and from there its has 4 gauge to the amps and the four gauge wire is only 15 inches long to cut down on voltage drop also has 0 gauge wire grounded directly to the frame of the van and it also runs to a distro block as well by the way the spare bat is also grounded to the frame with 0 gauge wire .

what would some recomendation i should look for on the classifeds

and thanks im trying to give my kid what my parents wouldent and no not adopting ....lol

if your not set on 15s you could always go with 3 sa-12 if if you wanted something fun you could do 6 sa-8s on an aq 2200 or something that does similar power

the 8s may not sound like much but i have seen 2 of them hit 140, and there is someone hitting 150s with 1 of them

i know 8 can do good in sound offs but the kind of loud he wants is more of a realy deep rumbling bass that i think you can only get from realy realy good 12s or decent 15s i think lol now i could be wrong but think the 15s are the way to go

The stuff I linked to is much better than the non-2000 watt Performance Teknique amp and cheapy DHD subs, those are both bottom of the barrel companies...just saying.

Both of these options take up nearly his whole budget on just subs.

Yup....Ram is correct. Best thing you could do, is sale the 3 12's and amp ya got for 2-300, and add that to the $600 ya got....gives ya 8-900....now we're talking some good gear.

And for some nice poundage....get the IXL 18's here - IXL Series : Mach 5 Audio

Amazing subs, with the lows you are looking for, in your budget. Could pick up a nice amp like the soundstream, or any amp that is 1/2 ohm stable and 2000 watts. And build the proper box, and that will slam the lows. The 18's have a 17 hz fs!!!!!!!!!!

is there anything in the classifieds that is comarable to ?

and i just sold the stuff we had in the van but would still like to keep the budget around 600 or 700 bucks

since you guys have given me the amp i need what are your sugestions on a set of 15s?

one more stupid question what if i just got 1 15 how loud can that be with more monet spent on a better amp insted of spending it on 2 15s
