Alright i'm new to the Paypal thing and im kind of confused. I've heard there are ways to have it where its not directly linked to your bank account which i think is a plus and is what i'd like to do. But on the paypal website i dont really understand which type to select since i don't want to be linked to my bank account. so i guess my question is, what type of account do most of you all use and have you had any problems??

sorry for such a noob question

Just add a credit card, that way your credit card company will go after someone if they screw you, unlike your bank. And the payment is instant, unlike a bank account that is backed up by a CC. Hope this helps!

My one piece of advice is when you buy something of great value (I do it for everything over $100) make sure you pay with funds from your CC so if you get scammed you can do a chargeback via your CC company as Paypal is worthless.

Even if you are in a rush say to buy an amp someone is selling for a great place just do the transfer of whatever cash you have in Paypal to your bank then like 30 seconds later pay for the amp and it will pull the funds from another 'source' which will be your CC (or debit card)

Toasted i think i get what you're sayin, maybe? haha so you're saying to pay for the item with my debit card through Paypal? i'm so lost, im just trying to make it where it's not as high of a possibility for me to lose all my money, thanks for hangin in there with me guys i know these questions are dumbbb

See say I want to buy something from you and you are a scammer. You are selling said thing for $250.

If I pay you with $250 I have in my paypal account and you scam me it is going to be a ***** dealing with Paypal and they usually just tell you that you are screwed.

If I pay you with funds from you via my CC and you scam me I call Paypal, tell them what happened and after they give me the runaround I just call up my CC company (or debit card bank) and tell them I have tried working on the issue with the seller and got ripped off. They reverse the sale and deal with Paypal and Paypal can deal with the scammer so you are not out any money.
