I came for help, but thought I'd introduce myself. I don't like being "that guy" in forums...
I'm from central Indiana, a stones throw from Indy, and my car is my 4th love...after God, my daughter, and my wife... though my wife would probably tell you it's 3rd. Anyway, it's a 1990 BMW 325i that I built (with a lot of help from a friend) with a Holset HX35 turbo (from a Volvo dump truck) that puts down about 400 HP to the ground in a 2800# car. My build willl support over 500, but it's already scary fast. Maybe one day I'll turn it up, but who knows.
I recently started getting into car audio because my speakers were junky SSL Force series, and I was looking for a slight upgrade. I also had a Dual 10" sub and some random amp that was in the trunk of another car that I bought. I threw it in the BMW just to make the SSLs listenable. When I started looking around, I found that I can get good stuff for not much more than OK stuff, so I started saving up. Ever tried saving money with a 4 year old running around?
I started looking for some better speakers, and settled on the JBL P660c set which I found for a good deal, and just got done installing those yesterday. I've got a Sundown SA-8 v1.5 on the way along with a PPI BA2600.1d amp to power it. I bought a box that was built to Sundown's specs, some 4g KnuKonceptz Kolossus for the power and ground on the amp, and 8g KnuKonceptz Karma to feed the sub.
