So I was browsing around here the last couple weeks, currently driving a 98 accord sedan. I am into home theater system for movies + music inside the house, and always hated the sound in the car.

Anyways, got 2 brand new sets of *FREE* Kenwood 6.5's, stock sounded better lol, so that's why I am here.

My HU is a budget Kenwood KDC-128, yeah not anywhere near the best, but better than stock unit. It does 25rms x 4 and 40peak x4. Has rca output slots for external amps and whatnot.

I have been looking and the best budget setup for someone like me.

Phoenix Gold RSD65cs Component setup.

Cadence amps:

TX1502

or

TX3002

Which one of these amps do you guys recommend? I am just going for sound quality here, without a sub for now as I heard that the Phoenix Gold have really decent midbass for its size. I would prefer the cheaper amp than the 3002, but if its worth the $29 extra I'll go for it.

Also, is there any harm done if I just run the Phoenix Gold through the HU instead of an amp for a month or so? I don't want to setup the amp and everything and when I get my 350z have to do it all over again, I am planning to do this myself as it seems simple enough to not take it to the shop to install an amp.

Give me some feedback guys, thanks

I say for the extra 29$ I would do it. but that is if depending on what you actually need for your current setup to complete it

I would buy the 3002 but just watch ur gains for the PG's sake... they are rated at 60, and although they can take more Im not sure they can take 2.5x their RMS

best part about that amp is it does 600rms mono so you can hook it up to a good single sub when u get done running those comps with it

I would pay the extra $29 but those amps are very long so make sure it's going to fit in a 350z first. It wont hurt anything to run the PG set off just the head unit, but it's not going to sound very good. If it's only a month till you get the new car then just wait to install the speakers and amp at the same time in the new car and just deal with the speakers you have for now. Thats what I'd do anyway.

Nothing wrong with extra power. You have complete control over the amount that goes to your speakers by way of the volume knob. With the gains set correctly and a highpass filter conservatively set, you won't have to worry about the extra power blowing the speakers because the nature of the recording level of music will keep the speakers from seeing anything near the rated power output of the amp.

ok thanks guys for the very fast response.

also, what about wiring? Is all that included or do I have to get them separately?

Anyway reliable websites to order these from cheaper instead of going into a shop? Thanks

I'm giving my RSd's 150w a side and they like it. Cheaper... I'm not sure. $129 for a 150x2 @ 4ohm is already a pretty good deal. Wiring is not included, but this is a solid amp kit for a good price.

Sell the Kenwood's, get the RSd's and the TXA-6004 (run the comps off 2 channels stereo and a sub or two off the other 2 channels bridged, like a pair of Kicker CVR's). That'll make for a very nice all around budget system.

wow thank you for the coupon, gonna probably step up a notch for the $$ saved //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
