new subs wiring question

So I had my 2 infinity kappas wich were single voice coil and now im getting 2 kicker cvrs double voice coil. The amp is a mono infinity reference amp would I still wire the subs the same way or does it have to be wired different since there double voice coil?

At what impedence is that Infinity monoblock stable to?

If it is stable no lower than 2 Ohms then you'll want to get the Dual 2 Ohm models on those Kickers and wire them like so:

If the amp is stable to 1 Ohm then you'll want to get the Dual 4 Ohm models of the Kickers and wire them like so:

well I already have 2 kicker cvr 10s at 4ohms. The amp can be wired down to 2ohms. Will that work and how do i wire that?

If your kicker's are dual 4 ohm vc, then paralleling all coils will net a 1 ohm load. A series/parallel wiring will net 4 ohm. If your amp cannot handle a 1 ohm load, either wire them at 4 ohm or get another amp. Both of those diagrams above represent a series/parallel configuration. All coils in parallel means all + terminals from speakers go to the + terminal of the amp and all - terminals from the speakers go to the - terminal of the amp.

If your CompVRs are the Dual 4 Ohm versions your available wiring options for a pair of them are either a 1 Ohm nominal load or a 4 Ohm nominal load with both subs wired to the same amp output.

As the Infinity amp you have isn't stable at a 1 Ohm load that eliminates that option from consideration leaving you with a 4 Ohm final load as your only real out.

Unfortunately your Infinity's wattage output when shown a 4 Ohm load isn't sufficient to adequately power a pair of CVR 10s.

So your left with the necessity to either swap out the CompVRs you have now for the Dual 2 Ohm versions instead......

OR

Get another amp.
