I am getting 2 new 12's and I have narrowed down to 2 choices

Pioneer: 400rms each, Dual 2 ohms

Kicker: Buy 1 Get one Free, 400rms each, Dual 2 ohms

They both are 400rms each, the Pioneer has a higher max power. They will be running off of a Kenwood amp that puts out 900rms @ 2ohms so I also need to know if overpowering either of these by 50rms each will hurt. If you have any advice please share it, thanks.

Id say those are about a wash. The kickers will likely get louder tho. Premiers might sound better. what kind of box?
I not to sure about the box yet I was thinking about making my own but Im not sure if thats a great Idea what do you think?. Also I have a little 4 cyl. car, will this setup flash my lights or put too much stress on my alternator? If so, should I get a capacitator

900w on stock is fine. Caps are useless. Research the big 3 upgrade.

As for a box, making a box is fine, and often better then buying a prefab. If you are intimidated by a ported box, make a sealed box. Those premiers in a sealed box would sound nice for the price range. And 900w is fine for either setup

i have always loved the cvr, some bash on the sound quality of kicker subs, ive owned cvrs, l5's l7's solo x's, and honestly ive preferred kicker subs to ALOT of other "better" brands like RE and such.

like said before, both good choices, im a fan of the cvr's, but get whatevers cheaper.

I can make a sealed or ported box, It all depends on the sub (isn't there recommendations?) Also, youre saying that the Big 3 upgrade will help with flashing lights and stress on the alternator?

I was saying if you dont want to make a ported box, make a sealed (as they are easier to make). But most subs will be fine in either application so long as your volume measurements are accurate.
