New speed record for I.

90 in my 97 silverado. gov. shuts off around 97-98
not if u turn the emergency flashers on:up2somet: hazards relay to the motor that their is an emegency situation and eliminates the governor/speed limiter.....this works in obd2 gm vehicles.

are you serious? If so that's pretty creative thinking by someone in R&D.

Locked the cruise in at almost 130 for about a 40 minute stretch between Des Moines and Omaha in the 1990 Saab 900 2.0 non-turbo (surprised it got up to that speed) I used to have. A bit faster in the car I have now. Grew up in Germany so those speeds aren't squat to me.

when i first got my license and new tires on the ranger i did 120+ going down a big hill (the speedometer only goes that high). since then, i don't think i've gone above 90. speeding tickets are not worth it when you're paying your insurance...

in my friends M3 we hit triple digit speeds just about every time i ride in it. rural roads are great...

i value my life too...but if its in a safe area and you have confidence in your ride then why not?
Agreed. Depends on the car, too. I'm still amazed by how hard the Germans torture test their auto prototypes for driver and passenger safety until the results are way above satisfactory.

i have confidence in the ablilities of military riggers, yet i would never jump out of a c-130 20,000 feet in the air

what if a tire blows out, what if a possum happens to be crossing the road, what if someone pulls out 100 feet ahead of you and your not able to slow down in time,

or how about its just ****ing stupid to go 100+ on public roads?

if its a road where someone can pull out in front of you then its not an appropriate place is it? which then conflicts with the conditions i set out. im talking about like...out in the joshua tree national forest where roads have no turn outs for miles. and you gotta check ur tires before you go out..beyond that its just faith in ur car. its exhilarating
