New speakers for my truck

Hey, I am looking to get some new speakers for my Dodge Ram single cab. The fronts are 6x9s, and the rears are 5.25. I just need real good mids and highs because I've already got the bass end covered with the sub and amp I just put in. I have been looking at the Polk MM series and they look nice. I don't have factory tweets so I think I will just get some co-axials, but if components sound that much better I would get components for the front.

you could always make a adapter plate from mdf and run some 6 1/2 comps in place of the 6x9s . you could even mount the tweeter on the adapter if you wanted too. id skip on the 5.25s tho... no need for them

So, are 6x9s no good to use or something? I also don't understand why I shouldn't upgrade the factory 5-1/4s, the stock ones sound like garbage.

i have a reg cab chevy once you have bass and a good front stage the rear are useless. you can run the 6x9s if you must but a good set 6.5s comps and a decent amp on them will make you more than happy. you can mount the tweeters on the adapter plate above your 6.5 or up around the mirrors. heres a pic for ref

I have a crew cab pickup and use rear fill, things are wierd without it. Best way I can describe rear speakers vs. no rear speakers is feeling like I'm in a concert hall vs. feeling like Im watching a concert on TV. And I have 280 watts going to HERZ to ways in front of me. But if I had all sub and no open space behind me I'd just use front components.

The rear speaker issue varies depending on what kind of vehicle and personal tastes. My suggestion is to just yank the rears for now and run wiring for new rears but roll without them for awhile until you decide. Then if you want some all you have to do is go in their screw them in and connect the wires.

ya but you have a crew cab . reg cab the rear speakers are 6" in most away from your ear . ive had with and without . id leave in the factorys upgrade your front first fade the rears out
