New Soundstream Reference Amp Same As The Old?

Not bad. I like the layout. And it looks like they made it easy for a repair tech to see what channel is what ect.
How much did it set you back?

Im sure you will be able to find these in the $400 - $450 range. MSRP is a lot higher but the way the new is these days thats what I am guessing the going rate will be online.

i purchased a ref.4.920 and set it up in my system as follows, jvc avx2 (head) soundstream reference ref.4.920(amp) .5 farad cap. ,a/d/s 320i comp. set, custom 12"sub box monster cable, m series and interlink cables. I have only had this set up for about 2 weeks so far, soo im still in the fine tuning stages of my crossover/sub settings. What i can tell you so far, is this amp is definitly NICE.the sound is clean smooth and dare i say sweet? . it is open clear airy dynamic super amonts of headroom (even during the most demanding passages of music, and the damping factor is no bs this thing is tight and punchy with out any sloppyness even when pushed. i run the component set off 2 ch, and the sub bridged mono. i compare this amp to the last, i had, anothe soundstream but it was the tarantula tra960.4 which was a decent amp but night and day copared with the reference. my hats off to soundstream!

the new ref series is awsome 'not talking about rubicons now'
I have installed a ref11000 running at 1.6ohms and a ref4.902 'running 2 channel both channels of the 4 channels in mono playing stereo at 2ohms' running 3 w0 jl 12's and 2 sets of polk audio highs and it just screams. SQ is awsomer and a quick pop of the back plates shows a great pcb layout and quality parts used. 'deff not like some cheap amps where oyu open the back and you see a ratoln a wheel making dc current' lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

deff as good or better as the old ref500 i used ot run back in 1990's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
