i know for a fact that a XXX will stomp a 13W7 all day for half the price, in every aspect.

and i'm sure the didn't down-grade with the new XXX, is all i'm saying, i dont know how people cant agree to this.

Also if you actually read the posts all anyone is saying is don't speculate till you see specs... I could build a speaker that had 28" of excursion... but I PROMISE you it would sound like shit....

again... take the Sd of a 12" XXX (old one) take the Sd of this MX (likely around that of the old 10" XXX)

you're looking at 40% less Sd

trust me... I could see MANY ways in which they're FORCED to downgrade that just from pics... over the old XXX

more MMs = less efficent

less sd = less efficent

need.... specs.... period

I meant more that it was a bold statement to say it would sound terrible.... that's certainly not anything intuative to me about 28" of excursion (which yes is simple to design)

The fact of the matter is, is that NOBODY dissed the sub(s) yet, its just that nobody wants to jump to conclusions.

A company can make a sub out of platinum and carbon fiber and hype it up as something far superior to what they've ever made, but if it gets in the hands of consumers and flops, then what are you going to back your claims on?

Like people have already said, don't jump to conclusions. It will *probably* be worth the price, but we have no idea.

Everyone (including SS) hyped up the RL-S as a badass sub that will kill anything on the market, and look what happened with that.

I cannot believe that you just said that. Actually, I can, but the fact that you were serious when you said it is laughable. HA HA HA.

The old xxx was a great driver, no doubt, but so is the W7. They are very comparable in SQ to most listening ears, and often generate similar output levels. Many times over they have been compared and re-compared with different folks choosing different drivers as the top. It boils down to install, and nothing more when you're speaking about two very high end drivers.

A statement such as yours makes you look stupid and uninformed....it's the kind of stuff people that work at shops say to get you to buy something. It's the kind of thing that drives me, and people with knowledge, straight away from individuals like yourself.

In all fairness, it is an awesome driver, sounds ****ing awesome... but in a CAR... it's worthless IMO.

I know for HT use it rocks (if you have the power).

But there was never a clear statement saying that it could NOT be used in a car, and i think thats where a lot of misconceptions happened following with disappointment.

IIRC all that was needed was a rather large box with a low tunning point. Same sealed. A large box was needed.

I belive power would have been an issue also. From most of the test ring it came up as an inefficient driver.

I don't think personaly I will trade out my XXX for one of the new drivers. But will not know for sure until the specs are released.

I'm actually looking forward to the XXX comp set. See how they perform in vehicle.
