most of the music being mentioned is terrible. its not really that hard to find good new rap. listen to albums like:Saigon-Moral of the Story

Bishop Lamont/Black Milk-Caltroit

Little Brother-Get Back

Freeway-Free At Last

Icewater-Polluted Water

Pharoahe Monch-Desire

WC-Guilty By Affiliation

and coming up theres a new Wu cd Ghostface has an album and in a couple days the Busta Rhymes/J.Dilla mixtape is coming out. So when you really look at it rap doesn't **** right now just mainstream rap. If you can look past that then you can find some amazing music.

that new freeway was dope, didn't like icewater as much, still waitin on rae's new shiznit. can't wait til ghost drops it... you're right though, good rap is out there, it's unfortunate people hear the radio and say rap sucks. there's still alot of good stuff out there

Eminem, and i don't have anything against him, help created the downfall of rap as it used to be known. He was really one of the first to use catchy chorus's and voice munipulation to both produce what i consider old school rap (beats and rhymes) and new school (catchy(cheesey) lyrics and a dancible beat).

I quite listening to anything 'new' about 8-9 years ago because everything was really bad.. Even seemed like the old school heads coming out with new stuff was really weak so I dunno.

I may download a few and see how they sound, freeway interests me as I just saw his movie and it had some pretty tight tracks.
