New Radio not powering on?

Hey i just bought the Pioneer Premier 5000ub and i hooked it up to my 1997 K1500 and it isnt even powering on. No lights come on in the radio or anything. I have soldered all the connections. I checked all the fuses. Hell i even hooked the stock radio back up to the connector and it came on just fine. One thing is though that i did not have the antenna hooked up because i forgot to get the adapter. But that shouldn't effect the power should it? Is there anything you're suppose to do to a new radio to get it to come on? Is there a chance i got a bad radio?

Did you check the fuse on the radio itself also it might be that it is just broken it has happened with me before with pioneers.

pull the radio out and test it. touch the black wire to the negative terminal on the battery and then the red and yellow to the positive and should turn on. if the fuse is good and still wont turn on then the radio is bad
