New product feeler - elastomeric glue for enclosures

I'd suspect the HT crowd would be into it more than the mobile enthusiast; All we need are rock-solid enclosures.
If the product does /that,/ we're down. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It seems to me that an elastomeric would be to reduce ringing at higher freqs;

Is that accurate?

I'd agree with this, midbass/midrange enclosures would benifit from this (a lot), bass, not so much, it's better to stiffen the enclosure to the point of raising wall resonance above the operating range than leave it there and try and treat it, no matter how good the treatment is.

ive experimented with a ton of adhesives, deadeners of materials ranging from mica paper to marble, and its VERY hard to justify any of the semi to definate exotic materials for any street beat application based on material cost - which im sure is the intended selling crowd. Especially when you can just get your box coated with truck bed liner and have a perfectly sealed enclosure inside and out and be extremely cost effective doing so.

Good luck with your results, but quite frankly I think you're barking up the wrong tree....personally if I were in the sound deading R&D portion of the business, id be looking to spray on deadeners that use compressed air as the propellant so anyone can do it at home.

Ant, if you would like a complete and unbiased review of the product I have a major build coming up and would be willing to go with your method if you supplied the deadner and then write a review based on the findings.

the spray deadener sounds like a really good idea

elastomeric = rubberized = gives and stretches?? how is that good for strength?
It isn't good for strength - strictly speaking. It's an effective mechanism for damping resonance. Stresses between the rigid MDF and the elastic adhesive convert vibration into heat. This stuff uses the same principle.
