New Powerbass xta-4000d power tests.

I just got a new powerbass xta-4000d, and I was able to do some 12volt power tests with it. Here are the results................

73 volts

38 amps

2774 watts

1.92 ohms

dc voltage drop 12.5

***The sub was wired to .5 ohm.

***All measurements were taken after holding burp for 5 seconds.

***Testing was done using a 51hz test tone (The burp frequency of my car)

Powerbass rates the amp at 4000 watts at 1ohm at 14.4 volts. I'd say it will easily do that if not more. I'm gonna do some more testing using a box wired at .25 ohm and I'll post the results. Can't wait!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

2700 @ nearly 2 is a solid number...is the XTA a newer series, or is it just an upgrade from the ASA?

xta amps are the extreme amps,new design but the amps are solid

I did some one ohm power tests.....

54 volts

60 amps

3240 watts

.90 ohms

11.8 dc voltag drop

***The subs were wired to .25 ohm

***All measurements were taken after holding burp for 5 seconds

***Test frequency was 51 hz.

I need to get my voltage up and try some more testing. I think I can get close to the 1ohm power rating at 12.5 volts rather the 14.4!

i've always considered powerbass's higher end amplifiers exceptionally powerful seen them in action at plenty shows here in florida.

I calculate that you'll get 3500w @ 12.5v. 3950w @ 14.4v. You're gonna need a serious electrical to hold a solid 14.4v with that amplifier.

I'll post my results tomorrow when I'm done testing.

Those are the exact same numbers I got off an old xa4000... 2700 watts @ 2ohm (wired @ .66 ohm). I've always liked Powerbass amps. I'll be installing another one before the week is through but it's going to be wired @ 1ohm on a set of 9510s in a CRX. I'll clamp that and get back to you ASAP.
