so i picked up the new performance auto and sound magazine yesterday and read the article about the new Phoenix Gold amplifier "The One". through their testing the did 5768 watts @ 1 ohm @ 12.6v. and 7602 @ 1 ohm @ 14.4v. both tests were at 1.0% THD. has the upfiring fin headsinks. looks nice to me.

i just know it will defiantly be price given the name of the brand.

yes i saw that in the "conclusion" area. probably won't see many of these floatin around...even when they are produced and not just a prototype.

because pg used to bring really good product for a good price. still make some pretty nice stuff if you ask me but its over priced now.

at 1 dollar per watt i expect 1% TOLARENCE PARTS EVERYWHERE and even then a 6kw could be had for under 2k...

even if they list it now at 5 grand i doubt it will turn out at that price. its probably just overhype for the new upcoming 'powerhouse' amp that they think only mainstream follows know about. some may not believe but mainstream companies know about the other companies that make the good, reliable product with no to minimal hassle on customer service.

obviously they are either broadening their horizons or trying to get hobbiests to look at their company.

Good yes, but also expensive. MSRP figures were right around .80-$1 per watt up until they got rid of the Titanium line a few years ago and started coming out with cheaper stuff like Octane, RSD, etc. IMO they were like a JL company back then that had a loyal following who would pay whatever they asked, and now they're just like any other manufacturer and have to make some so-so stuff along with some OK stuff in order to get by since they had lost a lot of their followers. That's just my opinion on it, I couldn't care less if PG never made anything again.
