new paint yay or nay..and afew questions

due to the recent keying of my car from my EX and the wing breaking off for the 3rd time(im a SPL guy shooting for 150dbs so do the math..lol) im going to paint my car this oct(college left over cash ) or maybe later because of winter...

I was going to change the paint to black but recently i have been wanting a bright color BUT i have 5% tint all around and plan on doing another layer of 5% so i think the only color that will look good with the dark tint is Kandy Orange..

is kandy a pearl? and do they come in metallic?

Earl schieb is going to paint the car and i was going to have a local guy do the prep work..it will be the platium package..and this package includes 3 coats of single stage paint and 2 coats of clear(ill prolly add another coat)

Also do anyone know if ES paints rims? i want the very center(where is saids F5) of the rim orange then have the orange brach off and gets wider on the lip like a triangle.

er... tanjello is that name of that color.. looks aight but if your going to do it.. black out the rims.. IMO it'll look better.. or keep it chrome..

Candy is usually 3 stage paint which will be extra. Not to mention door jams, underhood, trunk will also be extra. And I dont think I would trust ES to do candy.

And painting chrome is a whole other can of worms.

i like that color but i don't know how well it would look on a maxima.....and please, for the love of god, get rid of that 20" emblem on your fender

3 stage far as what? like they start off with white and so on?

Ill give them a call torrommow to see what they can do..

when i was painting cars and shit one lil can of candy was 350 dollars . spray crome is a different animal and that lil 2 ouch droplet cost 100 dollars . the prices probly went up. i suggest you do a simple clean and pearl maybe unless you have the money.also when you candy and you get a scratch you cannot just brush it on , candy sucks for a daily driven car. unless you have tons of money then ok.

and not every one can spray candy! you have to be one hell of a paint layer and have one hell of a gun

it sucks i never painted rims! i would imagine you would have to realy scrathc up the rims realy bad to make the paint bite basicly take the crome off and down all the way.then primer sand, piant,clear ,and wet sand and polish depending on how they turn out
